VP directs PCCB to probe malpractice at Tabora hospital project

VICE-PRESIDENT Dr Philip Mpango has directed the Tabora Municipal Council to collaborate with the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB), to bring to book all officials involved in the mismanagement of the implementation of the Tabora District Hospital project.
Dr Mpango issued the order shortly after laying down the foundation stone of the hospital project which is located at Uledi area in Mpela Ward at a cost of 2.8bn/-.
Along with the directive, the VP cautioned against violation of procurement procedures, insisting that public servants need to always carry out their responsibilities in accordance with their professional codes of conduct.

“I do not intend to see similar challenges reoccurring…the District Executive Director and regional authority should keep their eyes opened, while supervising the project for its timely completion,” said Dr Mpango.
He, however, urged the public to air their opinions in case of any misconduct which involves stealing drugs and medical equipment in health facilities.
The VP also directed all health service providers to see into it that the infrastructures are well managed while delivering outstanding services to residents in their respective areas.
