‘WCF is now ISO certified’

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Workers Compensation Fund (WCF) has been ISO certified by the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) pledging to continue providing quality services to people.
This signifies that the country’s compensation body meets the International Organization for Standardization’s (ISO) requirements in services delivery.
Speaking during the certificate handover ceremony on Thursday in Dar es Salaam, Permanent Secretary for the Prime Minister’s Office Labour, Youth Employment and Persons with Disability, Ms Mary Maganga appreciated the WFC for its significant milestone.
She directed it to continue provide high quality services which meet international standards.
“Regardless of the appreciations which I have extended to you for the great achievement you have recorded.
The ISO certificate brings to you a new challenge of ensuring you maintain a hard-working spirit and international services delivery,” she said.
“I urge you to avoid complacent,” Ms Maganga said.
The WCF’s certificate is labelled ISO 9001:2015 highlights provision of adequate, equitable and reliable compensation benefits to customers.
She said the best way that WCF can maintain high quality services is to carry out daily evaluation and find solutions to discovered shortcomings for improvement.
Ms Maganga urged WCF’s workers to keep on upholding their professionalism and integrity everyday while providing services to customers who can act as their goodwill ambassadors through a word of mouth.
In another development, Ms Maganga underlined the fact that the stunning achievement of obtaining ISO certificate earns accolade not only to WCF but the entire country.
She said the certificate is poised to increase WCF credibility to its customers.
Additionally, she commended TBS for exemplary services’ delivery which made the ISO to delegate to it the responsibility of issuing the certificate in country.
Earlier, WCF’s Director General, Dr John Mduma said the ISO certificate reflects the relentless efforts of WCF’s employees in ensuring that they provide quality services to customers.

Furthermore, he said CWF entered into agreement with TBS since 2022 to facilitate the process of attaining the certificate.
He noted already the organization has strategized on how it is going to maintain quality services provision to all customers that meets ISO 9001:2015 certificate.
Additionally, Dr Mduma pledged WCF to keep on making repeatedly assessment on its operation so as to discover challenges and address them in the manner which improves services delivery to customers.
WCF is a is a social security scheme established to provide of compensation for employees who suffer occupational injuries or contract occupational diseases arising out of and in the course of their employment and in case of death for their dependants.
