Yanga get ready for 2024/25 season with sureness

DAR ES SALAAM: AS the countdown to the 2024/25 NBC Premier League season gains momentum, Young Africans Sports Club Head Coach, Miguel Gamondi (pictured), has expressed satisfaction with his squad’s progress in their pre-season training camp in South Africa.

“I am pleased with the effort the boys are putting into our training sessions; they are doing an amazing job so far.

I am confident that they will develop a better understanding and we will see that connection on the pitch,” said Gamondi.

In addition to their pre-season camp in South Africa, Yanga are also participating in the Mpumalanga Premier International Cup.

They are gearing up to face TS Galaxy FC in their next fixture and reflecting on their recent performance against Germany’s Bundesliga side, FC Augsburg at Mbombela Stadium, where they lost 2-1.

Gamondi acknowledged need for match fitness among his players. “Most of our players need match fitness, and I intend to give each player some minutes in our upcoming matches to help them achieve that,” Gamondi  stated.

Regarding the new r ecruits, Gamondi noted heir potential, but highlighted the ongoing adjustment period within the team structure.

Meanwhile, Yanga Media and Communication Officer, Ally Kamwe, encouraged the club’s supporters to turn out in big numbers on August 4th to celebrate the climax of ‘Wiki ya Wananchi’ (Citizens [Yanga] Week), promising an exciting day filled with entertainment.

“I won’t reveal too much, but I assure Yanga fans that August 4th will be a historic day with plenty of thrilling events,” Kamwe assured.

Regarding the opponent team for Yanga on the muchawaited day, Kamwe hinted out of at a prestigious fixture, stopping short to divulge specifics.

As anticipation builds for Yanga’s upcoming season and the festivities surrounding Yanga Day, supporters can expect a blend of competitive football and celebrations outside the pitch.
