Yanga seek verdict suspension at Kisutu court

DAR ES SALAAM: YOUNG Africans Sports Club have formally requested the Kisutu Resident Magistrate’s Court in Dar es Salaam to suspend the implementation of a recent verdict nullifying the club’s current leadership.

The announcement came from Yanga Legal Director, Simon Patrick during a press briefing held in the city yesterday, emphasizing their expectation of a fair response from the court.

The court’s ruling on August 2nd, 2023, contested the legitimacy of Yanga’s Board of Trustees, following a lawsuit filed on August 4th, 2022, by plaintiffs Juma Ally and Geoffrey Mwaipopo, who argued that the board was operating unlawfully.

Patrick outlined several legal steps taken by Yanga’s legal team to address the situation.

“We have formally petitioned the Court to suspend the verdict’s implementation, citing the lack of legitimacy of the plaintiffs, who are not Yanga members. “

Additionaly , we have urged Fatma Karume and Jabir Katundu to take legal action against Abed Mohamed Abed for forging their signatures without consent.
