Yanga to set bar for next season

THE management of Young Africans said preparations for Saturday’s Annual General Meeting at Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam are at the advanced level.
The club’s Director of Finance and Administration Haji Mfikirwa urged eligible club members to attend while insisting the meeting provides a platform for discussions on different issues partaking in the club.
“We are progressing well with preparations, and as usual, we expect to receive a big number of eligible members from all over the country who are coming to learn more about achievements and plans for the upcoming year,” he said.
Adding, he said only five representatives from the club’s branches will have access to the meeting, saying it is impossible to welcome all their members.
“Each branch will be represented by five individuals who are the chairman, secretary, treasurer, and two other members will be others from the branch,” he said.
According to Mfikirwa, a registered branch must have over 100 members.
He also remarked that it’s the first meeting conducted after the club elections, which put in power the current management under the presidency of Hersi Said.
“At this meeting, our members listen to reports on club performance and next year’s plan.
“In terms of achievements, we have already succeeded in acquiring three domestic titles as promised by the management, who will also be in a better position to clarify what the club intends to achieve next year,” he said.
One of the best achievements marked by the Jangwani-based side last season was reaching the CAF Confederation Cup finals, a feat they never achieved.
Without a doubt, they stamped a successful season which also witnessed them defending three domestic titles they won in the 2021/22 season.
As such; people wonder how far they will go in the upcoming CAF Champions League duels where they expect to compete.
Yanga and Simba will engage in the CAF Champions League, while Azam and Singida Fountain Gate will feature in the CAF Confederation Cup.
