ZIFF calls for workshop attendees’ registration

ZANZIBAR: WITH just eight days remaining until the curtains rise on one of Africa’s most prestigious cultural events, the Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF) is set to captivate audiences from August 1st to August 4th, 2024.

This year marks the festival’s 27th edition, promising an array of cinematic delights that draw filmmakers and enthusiasts from across the globe.

The festival, renowned for its celebration of diverse storytelling through film, will showcase a rich tapestry of genres including Feature Films, Documentaries, Short Films, and Animations.

Each category promises to deliver thought-provoking narratives and visual masterpieces that highlight the depth and breadth of global cinema.

Ahead of the festival’s commencement, organizers have announced a series of workshops designed to enrich the skills and knowledge of filmmakers and industry professionals alike.

From July 20th to July 25th, 2024, participants can register for workshops covering various aspects of film production and storytelling.

“We encourage greater participation of filmmakers in the workshops,” said Hatibu Madudu, the festival director, in an exclusive interview with the ‘Daily News’.

“Our lineup includes sessions on film business strategies, Q&A sessions with prominent producers, workshops on Documentary filmmaking, and interactive panel discussions.

”Madudu emphasized the workshops’ role in nurturing talent and fostering collaboration within the film community.

“I would kindly request film lovers to follow and stay close to our social media pages and the official website for updates on workshop registration which will take place from 20th to 25th July, 2024 with no extension,” Madudu added.

Madudu added beyond the screenings and workshops, ZIFF 2024 promises a vibrant atmosphere of networking and cultural exchange, providing attendees with ample opportunities to connect and collaborate.

As anticipation builds for this landmark event, Zanzibar prepares to welcome filmmakers, journalists, producers, and cinema lovers from around the world.
